The Oxford Vaccine Group delivers expert-led immunisation education, providing introductory and update courses and an annual seminar.
INTRODUCTION TO IMMUNISATION TRAINING
Introduction to Immunisation. 2-day face-to-face for those new to their role, 12 CPD hours of participatory learning, and courses are held several times per year.

- aligned with UKHSA (Health Security Agency) National Minimum Standards and Core Curriculum for Vaccination Training - GOV.UK
- covers core areas of vaccination knowledge for all healthcare staff with a role in delivering vaccination programmes in line with National Standards
- aimed at Registered Healthcare Professionals (RHCP) and Healthcare Support Workers (HCSWs) who administer/advise about immunisation
- focused on adult, maternal and paediatric national immunisation programmes and policies (not travel vaccines)
- delivered by a range of immunisation specialists
- open to those working in any region of England
Content Areas: 1.The aims of vaccination, national vaccine policy and schedules 2. The immune response to vaccines and how vaccines work 3. Vaccine-preventable diseases 4. The different types of vaccines, their composition and their indications and contraindications 5. Current issues in vaccination 6. Communicating with patients, parents and carers about vaccines 7. Legal issues as applied to vaccination: consent and legal mechanisms to supply and administer vaccines 8. Storage and handling of vaccines 9. Correct administration of vaccines 10. Adverse reactions 11. Documentation 12. Strategies for optimising vaccination uptake.

IMMUNISATION UPDATE TRAINING
Immunisation Update training courses are held throughout the year. A mix of half-day and day courses delivered virtually or face-to-face for those with current experience.

OVG IMMUNISATION SEMINAR
OVG hosts an annual Immunisation Seminar. This popular day seminar provides an ideal opportunity for healthcare practitioners and others who work in the area of immunisations, to both update their current immunisation knowledge and to hear the latest developments in the topic of vaccination. Content is delivered by a range of leading immunisation experts. There are exhibition stands.
