At OVG, Elena Mitsi's current research primarily focuses on bacterial and viral (SARS-CoV-2, RSV and flu) co-infection in the human respiratory tract, the usage of airway organoids in studying bacterial and viral infection and the design of effective preventative treatments. While Simon Drysdale's research focuses on RSV and encompasses other viral respiratory illnesses, antimicrobial stewardship, alongside holding the positions of Clinical Lecturer and Honorary Speciality Registrar.
